Since the first of these cited despatches was
sent this Government has had under consideration the
whole question of the precautions against air raids to
be adopted in this Colony, and, since the total cost is
much in excess of what could be afforded in a single year,
of the order in which the measures which are held to be
necessary should be put into force. These measures may
be grouped as follows:-
(1) Education of the community in anti-air raid
precautions:
(2) Recruitment and training of air raid precautions
personnel in decontamination, first aid and similar
services:
(3) Provision of respirators, protective clothing and
(4)
storage of the same:
Fire fighting appliances:
(5) Anti-air raid equipment: e.g. medical stores, rescue
